Bijan Sarhangpour: Fencing Academy Opening Ceremony

Bijan Sarhangpour recently attended the opening ceremony of the Rouzbeh Sarhangpour Fencing Academy—a world-class, Isfahan-based sporting facility that provides young people across the region access to recreation, competition, and thrill of fencing.

A former fencing competitor who competed at numerous national and international competitions throughout his youth, Bijan Sarhangpour was proud to witness the facility’s official opening—an event and naming ceremony that honors the legacy of his late son, Rouzbeh, who passed away in 2016.

Making a Difference for the Isfahan Community

Opened in March 2018, the Rouzbeh Sarhangpour Fencing Academy provides disadvantaged young people throughout the region access to quality recreational and competitive opportunities.

This includes access to fencing coaching, training, education and encouragement—programs they might not otherwise be available to those without adequate financial means.

Bijan Sarhangpour was a longtime talent in the sport of fencing—having competed in numerous international fencing events throughout his young sporting career.

Currently the Director of Baku Oil Services (BOS), Bijan Sarhangpour now enjoys the opportunity to give back to the sport, and to the local community, through the recently completed Rouzbeh Sarhangpour Fencing Academy—an all-new fencing facility that bears the name and continues the legacy of his recently-deceased son, Rouzbeh.

Offering Opportunities to Local Youth

Officially opened in March 2018, the Rouzbeh Sarhangpour Fencing Academy resulted from a partnership between Bijan and the Fencing Board of Isfahan; an agreement that has led to:

• A world-class fencing facility that offers fencing opportunities to in-need youths throughout the local area.
• Access to education, coaching, and training for local youths interested in fencing opportunities.
• A facility capable of accommodating national and international fencing competitions.

Bijan Sarhangpour is the former owner and current CIS Director of Baku Oil Services (BOS)—a leading provider of infrastructure services to the regional oil and gas industry.

Recently, Bijan Sarhangpour and BOS teamed up to build the Rouzbeh Sarhangpour Fencing Academy—a facility created in memory of Bijan’s son, Rouzbeh Sarhangpour, who passed away tragically in 2016.

Bijan Sarhangpour, the former owner and Director of Baku Oil Services is a seasoned engineering professional with decades of experience in his field. He's a Corrosion Engineer and Coating Specialist, and he's passionate about improving his skills. 

Mr. Sarhangpour grew up in Isfahan, Iran, and he has attended certification courses in Iran, the United States, Russia, Germany, and Italy. He also holds a degree in Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology.

Engineers like Bijan Sarhangpour can work on a vast array of projects for different industries, in different areas of the world. Since he started his career in 1972, Mr. Sarhangpour has completed dozens of problems in several different countries, and he doesn't plan to stop any time soon.

Bijan Sarhangpour is an Iranian businessman who serves as the former owner and Director of Baku Oil Services. He has decades of experience, and he holds a degree in Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology.

In addition to his degree, Mr. Sarhangpour holds certifications from completing training courses around the world. He has studied in Italy, Germany, Russia, the United States, and Iran. He’s a Corrosion Engineer and Coating Specialist, and he has worked in the field since 1972.

Bijan Sarhangpour moved to the United Arab Emirates by investing in Equipment and Manpower supply in UAE in 2003, and he continues to enjoy his life in Dubai. He maintains an excellent reputation in his field, and he speaks six languages fluently.

Away from his career, Mr. Sarhangpour is a fitness enthusiast and a global fencing champion who holds more than eighty medals. He has been fencing from a young age, and he continues to enjoy the sport regularly as part of his fitness and health routines.

Bijan Sarhangpour, the former owner and Director of Baku Oil Services, is a successful corrosion engineer and coating specialist. He has experience dating to 1972, and he has completed numerous successful projects in the decades following. 

Mr. Sarhangpour speaks six languages fluently, and he has studied engineering around the globe. He holds a degree in Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology. In addition to his degree, Bijan Sarhangpourholds many certifications that he earned through completing various courses. 

He completed Management and Safety training in Krupp/Geldern, Germany; Concrete Repair & Seal Off training with a TPE company in Moscow, Russia; Corrosion Engineering training in Houston, Texas; Refractory Engineering training in Treviso, Italy; and Heat & Cold Insulation training at NICSO in Rome, Italy.
